Just finished AFTER VISITING FRIENDS by Michael Hainey.

Now reading THE DESCENT OF ANANSI BY Larry Niven and Steven Barnes. It has a cover by Howard Chaykin.

THE BLACK EYED BLONDE, a Phillip Marlowe novel by Benjamin Black.  I've not read any of Raymond Chandler's novels (which I intend to rectify, eventually), but this feels like a good approximation of film noir in novel form.

Wallace, we've got to hope he writes a few more--I'm about to start the final
book of that series, although I think he's written a few more Easy Rawlins
books since last I checked in. Btw, I thought the movie adaptation of Devil in a
Blue Dress, starring Denzel Washington as Easy, was very good, and I'm sorry
it apparently wasn't successful enough to start a series.

Robert, I am a big fan of Mosley's work, and have read every fiction book he's
had published. Most of them are on bookshelves here.

The DEVIL IN A BLUE DRESS movie was pretty good. Have you seen ALWAYS
OUTNUMBERED, ALWAYS OUTGUNNED featuring Lawrence Fishburne?

Wallace, I haven't seen the Fishburne movie; I'll have to rectify that.  Thanks for the tip, I wasn't even aware of it.

Just finished the Arnold Schwarzenegger bio: TOTAL RECALL.

I enjoyed it because it was engaging and written in a way that felt very much like he was simply talking about his life in conversation.
(Or most likely because I grew up as a fan watching his action movies.)
