Since Mr. Winslow is getting so much attention for his "Cartel" trilogy, I figured it was time to sample the first novel...

Sampling some more WWII stuff this week and zeroing in on the largest armored battle in military history. I read one of Showalter's books many years ago and enjoyed it, but he doesn't seem to write much anymore.

Couple of chapters in, and a bit disappointed with Selina’s book. I think I get what the writers are going for, in terms of capturing the humor of the show, but the result is not at all the spotless, self-serving tome I would have expected from President Meyer.

Fevre Dream, by George R.R Martin, published here in the U.K as part of the Fantasy Masterworks series. It's the only Martin novel I've read outside of his ASOIAF books.

Now sampling a new writer who sets his stories up in Ontario, Canada. This ongoing mystery series is the basis for the CARDINAL television show that is still running strong north of the border.

Another new author to sample, with the setting in East Germany circa the 1970's. It's been a while since I read a good Cold War thriller.

Just finished JOHNATHAN STRANGE AND MR
NORRELL. Fun book with two of the most
infuriating protagonists I've ever read.

Now starting another novel by Lou Berney, which was shortlisted for several awards in mystery fiction when it was first published in paperback format back in 2015.
