Sad to hear of your loss, John. The Rushton Lordship is in good hands though. I cannot imagine what it is like to lose a father (losing my grandparents was hard enough).

RIP Byrne senior. You gave the world a blessing with your son.

90+ years of life is quite the wicket, a good 20 years longer than many get to spend with a parent.  My grandfather passed when he was 98.  "A life time and a half," he said to my father, "but I've missed your mother." (she passed 20 years previous).  I am 40 with both my parents still alive and I only have two friends whom can say the same.

My best thoughts to you, John.  May he rest in peace.

Very sorry for your loss, JB, but I'm glad your father was able to talk and joke with you right up until the end.

I think I said this when your mother passed, but it bears repeating.  I hope your father had an idea of how much his son's work meant to people.

My condolences.  I lost my father a few years ago when he died in an accident working on his farm.  Every day I think of him and wish I could share something happening with my son or ask his advice on situations.  It is good to hear you got a "farewell" moment with your father.
