A work in progress that I started yesterday because the sheet of paper beckoned me...
I think I'm getting used to this technique that I started with softer graphite pencils. It's easier to erase the strokes used for layout and construction, and the heavier strokes are quite dark. The 2B grade seems to work out quite well in this stage of the technique. The next step will be to whip out the LightPad and begin the ink work on an overlaid sheet of Bristol board. Then I may complete the pencil line just to see how much detail I could add that I'd normally skip while inking my own work.

I like how my backgrounds turned out in photoshop...but I think my characters are still too cartoony...

I've been putting some new tools to use...
Done with a Pentel GraphGear 500 0.3mm with HB lead yesterday afternoon. Actually came out faster and better than I expected it to. The new GraphGear lead-holders replace all my older models, and will be limited to just the 4 sizes available with the following: - 0.3mm HB or softest available grade
- 0.5mm B or 2B
- 0.7mm B or 2B
- 0.9mm available blue lead refills

It's been almost 15 years since I last drew a comicbook character =) This is my first sketch posted on JB's forum and I'd like to THANK him for being such an inspiration to me all these years.

I posted the finished version in the 'Request for the Board' thread. I changed the face of the Flash to more closely resemble the Justice League cartoon.
