Not a big fan of still life but when the teacher ask us to do one, i had no choice.

When the teacher ask each one of us what medium will we be using everybody said colored pencils, I said markers.

The teach ask me have drawn a whole picture using markers before I said no, he said I was crazy. lol

I went to Blick, got some markers, practice for hours, almost passed out from the smell of the markers and finally came up with the picture above.

I don't think I deserved it but the teacher gave me an A on it.

Maybe it was because I tried something different? I don't know but I'll take it.

It's not easy drawing with markers but they are terrific for some things.

Jose,

I am surprised how well the grapes turned out with using markers.

well the smaller ojects were much easier to blend and I must admit I did use a white water color pencil to add highlights to the grapes.

I had to press real hard with the white pencil and sometimes I didn't see any effect.

I think a chalk would have worked better.

I also drew on the back of the paper to add darker shades.

The tough part were the bigger objects, I had to draw fast to avoid streaks.

thank you very much

My first picture of 2012, done for a forum challenge on a digital art website.  The topic was 'caricature'.  Done, as with all my recent pics, in Painter 12, although I actually started by making a perspective grid in Manga Studio first

Hey, thanks, Jodes.

I was so proud of the foreshortening on the arms, (no reference used), that I showed my Mother.

"I don't like it."

"Huh? Look at the arms, Ma."

"I don't like it. It scares me."

"Ma, it's a !@#$% human on a bike!"

"But it looks like a he/she!"

SO WHAT? I'm only showing you because of the foreshortening?!"

"I don't like it."

Oh, well.
