It was a lesson on dramatic light, I am going to push it a bit farther. The next project is color studies and I will use this image to show complimentary color schemes.

I started a series of small paintings of Skulls. These are  4x4". I plan on doing 10 total. Here are the first two.

I am actually doing these from life and have a good skull model I set up outside and do a Plein Air painting of it.

Here is one more I finished recently. I am into Ravens and I think next I will be painting an albino one.

Skull 3 I did today, it is 4x4" so it is small.

Thanks Tim and Rick. The Skulls are painted from life. I have a couple of Skull models and I set them up Plein Air style. I am putting them at different perspectives, and lighting, so that also affects the color.
