Hey Carmen, is that StarBlazers? Looks like Desslok and maybe Colonel Ganz? I loved that cartoon as a kid.

Need to add: no reference used on those WW's, but sense a Maguire- ness on the spaghetti shot, and, a Giordano-ly ink job on the running pose. I impatiently await for my own style to emerge.

Yes, it is. This was part of a larger piece that I did as a sort of commentary on a recent remake of the series, which originally ran in Japan in the mid-1970s under the title Space Battleship Yamato. The new version (Space Battleship Yamato 2199) made a few tweaks on the backstory and supporting cast without doing away with the original main characters and their subplots.

Love the way the Sketch Book thread is getting bumped up every once in a while. There's been some pretty neat little bits from all involved.

I've found that I'm using any sort of scrap paper for drawing the quick little sketches like these.
