A sort of "self-test assignment" on feminine profiles to see if I had absorbed anything from my last two attempts  The test was drawing without reference.

Sadly, I think I "failed" in my studies because it was WAY harder than I expected, and I screwed up on a number of fundamental proportional details---having to rework then over and over and over only to achieve a fairly mild result (with the aid of some digital corrections).  In the end, the line work (on toned-paper) got lost, and it took on that all to common digitally-painted look---of which I am not a fan.

That whole business near the eye socket, and bridge of the nose...the gentle slope of the female forehead so that the brow is not too prominent or the nose to sharp...oy!

Still well-done Steven. The top illustration reminds a bit of Bettie Page

Thanks Paul!

Maybe a passable Betty if she had darker hair.  It's probably the bangs. :)

Capturing that improbable moment in a Hope/Crosby movie when the village Witch Doctor steps out of her hut and is not the old crone our heroes were expecting, but a Hollywood starlet in a swimsuit.

Truthfully, I was just practicing a simple pose and went overboard with the shading and background. :P

I certainly don't consider myself a penciler, but every now and then I will pencil something just so I can ink my own work.

Very, very nice Paul.  There action and tension in the scene and a nice balance of light and dark.  I like the scenery too, especially the  sky.

The only think I might change is perhaps the creatures hand because it's getting lost into the background a bit.  Maybe it's white against all black?

I'd consider you a penciler, for sure!  Enviable inks, of course.

Thanks Steven! My favorite scenes are outdoor scenes. That's why I soak up the ones our host draws. Yeah, the hand was kind of a last minute idea - to give Wolverine something to react to
