The Bronze Gladiator,a character from the HEXAGON Universe. The characters from this universe were created in France but most of them are American. The Gladiator is an alien whose adventures take place in America. The rights of all those characters(including Zembla) have been bought by Platinum so you might see them on tv or at your movie-theatre one day...

Chris Malgrain, your amazing art looks a bit like French more than American comics. And I guess that is what Semic France wants. You did not list your site at the bottom of your postings, though you probably are very much allowed to.

PS. I have worked for Semic as well as a writer. DS.

Mark, I like your inked pictures or whatever you call those, probably because the models seem to have been very pretty. I want you to work on your hands. A very common mistake (not that I am an artist to speak of) is too make the hands too small. In this case they are too small and they look too much like my monster slip-on hands that I have in a drawer, at the same time. Think female skin, softness, don't care about how it actually looks, remember it's art, not a photo.

Those hands all look like the right size to me.  Do you know a lot of women with 'man-hands'?  :)

Yes, every professional-loking illustration. Big hands, fine lines, softness, femaleness.

Thanks Lars and Stephen. I do appreciate constructive criticism. I think the hands are the right size myself, but I'm also willing to see what happens with adjustments. I definitely agree I want to work on softening the hands though. Although all of these girls work hard, they deserve to look their best.

I agree Brian. They are great models. Their fee is great. They just want copies of my drawings. Nice young ladies.

I like to try different styles and mix elements from different cultures. In France people say I have an American style because of the story-telling.I think it's more interesting to have a slightly different style for the American market because most young artists have an"Image" style. Not that I don't like it but it's good to have a special touch...This page for Alexa is a perfect example:characters in a US comics style and a city with a very European design.
