Looking ahead to 2019, how's this?

While ELSEWHEN is still hypothetical in some respects, we know that a certain
amount of it ALREADY EXISTS. Actually.

Warm comfort. The dream of more John Byrne Uncanny X-Men has moved
irrevocably from the realm of wishing and dreaming to the realm of waiting and
biting nails!

So.....

I managed to scratch that itch and make this feel more like a proper First Issue without having to redo--or dump-- the whole thing. Added an "epilog" to the first two pages, bridging from the end of the UNTOLD STORY, and setting up the subplot that will percolate in the background for the first twelve issue.

Sadly, this meant sacrificing two pages, including the very first one drawn! But, I'm sure that will find its way into the "series" at some point. (Not as a cover, before anyone jumps to that contusion!)

As a Cover??  Oh wait...nevermind (heehee)
Seriously, I think it's great that you manage to find ways to make the storytelling the best that it can be. I'm sure some wouldn't think twice to gloss over ideas that were already written and done.

137, actually. Not counting unused pages.

It’s a sickness, I tells ya!

My birthday is on the 26th. What a present it would be to have an announcement that day that this is becoming an actual reality and will be released.

Please don't take this wrong, but your sickness makes me feel good.

Seriously, it's great not only that you are working on new X-Men stories (with the classic "new" team), but I like that you are also excited working on the project, JB.

JB,

Thank you for letting me in the club here- my membership dues are in the mail. ;)

As everyone else here, I'm a long-time fan of your work, having followed virtually all your career.

First, I'd like to thank you for stoking my love for the medium. It wasn't until after I had learned about JOHN BYRNE, artist of the Uncanny X-Men, that I realized I'd already been reading your work on Iron Fist, Marvel Team-Up, etc. Back then, I didn't understand how much different inkers could change the look of a penciler's work.

You took me on journeys with some of my all-time favorite characters, like the Fantastic Four and the Hulk, you introduced me to new favorites, like Nathan, Beth, Jazz, Jack and Danny. You took me to the movies, with Indiana Jones and Jurassic Park; you even made me go over to Distinguished Competition and made me a fan of the Man of Steel (heaven forbid!).

And now... well, you've reintroduced me to old friends I haven't seen in a very, very long time- Logan, Peter, Kurt, Ororo, Scott and Jean. Didn't realize just how much I missed them.

Speaking of different inkers- being a creator myself, I had to take a stab at inking these pages. And so I must thank you one more time- for allowing me an amazing opportunity to sharpen my skills AND to appreciate your work on a whole new level, studying these pages as I attack each one.

I'll be posting pages on the new inking thread, as I'm curious to see what you think and if you have any feedback for me to follow.

I look forward to whatever comes of ELSEWHEN, and I hope you are enjoying creating this as much as we are in following it!
