I'm waiting for this series the way my mother in law's waiting for Jesus.

Indeed. It`s an oh no from me too :(

I thought it was just a matter of time until we saw our dream project
,by The Chief, in print.
JB wanted it, we wanted it, Marvel`s EIC wanted it? Non?

Has there been a definitive (negative) development I`m not aware of?

Easy, pals. Let's assume it is, as noted, Mr. Byrne working out his drawing muscles and showing us his work, until we hear otherwise. Marvel publishing it was only a possibility - and it wasn't the original intention, it seems.

I doubt we'll miss anything; Mr. Byrne stated certainly that we'd see this one way or the other. So let's not jump to conclusions yet. We'll get the truth, but we needn't pressure Mr. Byrne about it.

Two thoughts that come to mind seeing that drawing of the Thing:

One, I know this isn't going to be a series that is constantly filled with guest stars, and I don't want it to be, but it is awesome to see JB drawing so many of these characters that I have "missed seeing" for years.

Two, that drawing to me is simultaneously a way of seeing Ben that I never seem to have seen before, as well as being incredibly familiar.

I hope this becomes an ongoing, but I am just so glad and thankful to be even seeing this as it is.

You are hitting a VERY nice stride on these issues, each image posted seems to better than the previous one. Thank you for sharing these with us, you are very kind to do so. I hope you are enjoying your visit with these old friends, you know we are!

Here's a question I've had since I was 13 reading this Elsewhen period of time:  As 'co-plotter", did you have some far reaching plan or "tone" for the characters' directions before everything was derailed by the published ending of 137 and the other "stuff" that came up at the time?  And by "far reaching" I mean past issue 150 (you've already mentioned in interviews at the time what the plans were up to 150)  I've always been curious to know if the alternate future in "Days of Future Past" (since it contained Rachel) was a more extreme version of the way things would've gone

Chris and I had plotted roughly thru 150. That was to be a big Magneto story. (If I’d lasted that long, nothing that happened to Magneto after I left would have been possible.) Rachel was, of course, the daughter of Scott and Jean, something of which Chris seemed unwilling to let go after the timeline changed.
