In my day, Peter was about 18 (to Kitty’s 14). Coincidentally, approximately the same range as the kids in Disney’s ALADDIN.

JB: In my day, Peter was about 18 (to Kitty’s 14).Coincidentally, approximately the same range as the kids in Disney’s ALADDIN. === Also around the same as in Romeo and Juliet, which has the latter approaching her 14th birthday, although she's apparently 16 in the poem which inspired Shakespeare (or should that be Edward de Vere?).

--- For what it's worth, back when this was being thought about back in '09 as X-Men: Evermore, Claremont said on a forum that he'd love to see it himself, speaking as a fan.

As I remember, “Evermore” followed the model of Chris’ FOREVER project, picking up from where I left the book. Very different from ELSEWHEN.

Tough call. There’s so much conflicting data—such as Xavier being in his twenties in X-MEN 1, but not long after having fought in the Korean conflict.

Not to answer for the esteemed Mr. Byrne, but, since Elsewhen takes place weeks after the "true" version of 137, and Jean's tombstone in 138 says 1956 - 1980, she seems to be 24. I always assumed that Scott was a year older.
Is that right?

The X-Men were originally identified as “teenagers”, with only Bobby Drake being noted as a specific age (16) in the first issue. Allowing that Hank was the oldest (I had him turn 20 in HIDDEN YEARS), that would put Scott and Jean somewhere around 18/19. Here we see, of course, the problem that arises when we get even close to tying these things down. The team remained teenagers for many years, which taxed even “Marvel Time” in the minds of some. This is why, by the time Chris and I got to 138 we felt compelled to make Jean the age shown on her headstone. (1956-1980)

This is why, by the time Chris and I got to 138 we felt compelled to make Jean the age shown on her headstone. (1956-1980)------------------
Well, if you apply the timeline you mapped out in AF through the narration and dialogue ("10 years ago", "3 years later...", etc.) , Jean's age of 24 works for events happening in "1980" (in Marvel time, the events of issue #1 of the X-men occur 7 years before issue 138, with only 1 1/2 years between #98 and 137)

It seems pretty obvious that Wolverine wasn't a teenager at any point during X-Men... nor was Banshee. So, two questions for Mr. Byrne:
1) Notwithstanding that we do not know Professor Xavier's age, was Banshee close to that? Perhaps the question might be better phrased as how old was Sean... either way, I guess.
2) What age was Wolverine? I seem to recall you once noted that, had you continued on X-Men, you had planned a crossover with Captain America (had you continued on Cap, what a crossover THAT would have been!) and Cap would have commented, "Colonel Logan? Is that you?"

1) Sean I figured was in his forties. 2) Corporal Logan—but, yes, I figured him to have been born maybe in the 1920s.
