I used to make my own (very amateurish) comics when I was a child/teenager, and back when I was using felt-tips to colour them, the small panels were the easy ones and the big panels were the nightmare that would run the ink out on the pens. Colouring an expanse of sky was a laborious task that would often yield poor results. It occurred to me yesterday that colouring with photoshop is the other way round. An expanse of sky is the really easy bit and it's the tiny panels that are the killer.

I spent a lot of yesterday colouring one tiny panel of a corridor in the Latverian embassy. My eyes were skew-whiff by the end.

I've posted the second page before, but since I've now down two pages in a row, I'd thought I'd post them both together:

It's been a little while since I posted an inked Elsewhen page. This is one I wanted to do since I saw it. I love everything about this page especially that cool Wolverine pose in panel 3.
This is from issue 29 page 11

Some very precise inking there, Paul, with all those curves and straight lines. Very tidy job. Curious why you changed the letters on the side of the jet?

I've only just got that it must be spelling Byrne.

I love that page Paul ! The only thing I don't like as much are the hatchings on Wolverine's head in panel 4 but apart from that, cool !

Thanks Shane, Philippe!
Philippe- yeah, you're right. I was experimenting a bit with adding some extra ink textures - but it's not needed when the penciler is John Byrne. I've since corrected it.

Sometimes I think it just fun to try and play around over Johns pencils and try different things.  I for one found it impossible to not put stubble on Wolverine in the pages I was inking. I just HAD TO DO IT!
