Clever Colossus!

Without Nightcrawler, Phoenix and Beast I'm a little bit nervous for our mutant friends.

And it feels good!

Sadly, that Micronauts "crossover" is another of the many instances from my time at Marvel that still stick in my craw.

Bill Mantlo read my story, and asked if he could use Liddleville in MICRONAUTS. Sure, I said. It would be cool to see the Micronauts finding themselves GIANTS in the tabletop town. "Yeah, sure," said Bill.

And then he played the robot population of Liddleville and the Micronauts as the same size, even tho I had established my characters as only a tiny fraction of an inch tall. The town at the Micronauts' scale would have covered several acres, not the small area shown.

He also got around my ending by simply ignoring it!!

sigh

Well, Peter is a big fellow - I expect he could still do some damage to Magneto if he actually could get a punch in...

Love Peter - no metal, go for the helmet. Great portrayal of character growth and learning from previous encounter (as opposed to Wolverine - go straight for him with claws out. Why he will never make a good teacher).

Why [Wolverine] will never make a good teacher.

••

Funny you should mention that. At the NYCC I was asked yet again why I don't teach, and as usual I said it was because my whole approach would be yelling "NO! NO! NO! DO IT RIGHT!!"

Which is how I imagine Logan would work in that position!

and if the students REALLY rile him up, Wolverine would just pull out the 'ol claws on chalkboard trick.

"NO! NO! NO! DO IT RIGHT!!"

I have to say I really laughed out loud reading that!

Hard to call Wolverine a “teacher”, but I felt the character had great scenes that showed depth and wisdom. This was a great example imho:

The complexity of Logan’s character is pretty awesome.

That's some good Wolverine. Wise, but still reckless.

JB: just curious. How do you feel about mags controlling the iron in someone's blood?  (not the X2 movie thing where a large amt of iron was injected).

Personally, I think it does/would make him a bit too powerful...
