Did you go back and reread some of the X-MEN issues in preparation of working on ELSEWHEN?•• I flipped thru the pertinent ESSENTIALS volume, but I found that my memory was pretty sound on the details. (It's YESTERDAY I have trouble remembering!!)

I really appreciate Scott looking like Lee-Kirby's "Slim" Summers, JB.

I really appreciate Scott looking like Lee-Kirby's "Slim" Summers, JB.•• My pleasure! During my tenure on UNCANNY I was ordered by the EiC to make Scott muscular, so he would "look like a leader". A few years later, during the birth pangs of X-FACTOR, that same EiC kept instructing those artists that he be drawn as "slim". Ah, consistency!

Also JB,
Are you channeling some Artie Simek with the sound effects?

Are you channeling some Artie Simek with the sound effects?•• Some of them may BE Simek. The SFX are mostly cut-and-paste, as is the Torch's FLAME ON!

Unbelievable issue!! is there even another early 80's issue where Marvel's 3 mega teams crossed over???
My 13 year old mind would've exploded at my favorite characters all ending up in a single issue!! (much like my adult mind is currently exploding!)

I sat for two minutes straight just going "AH! AH! AH!" at that last panel. I just geeked out a most beautiful piece of art in a collection of truly beautiful art. Of course, how not in the Baxter Building?
Just like Michael G. - it's the ever-lovin blue-eyed bashful idol o' millions, the ever-lovable Thing! And hey! That panel is a Thing with a THUNG! I love that sort of thang!

I've got quite a few favorite X-Men artists over the years, but only one favorite FF artist. JB's FF run was more definitive than his X-Men run if you ask me.
