You know, whenever I think of that story I see it in black & white. I'm almost a little shocked when I see it in color.

Great short!

Mr. Byrne: "Can the Vision "carry" people and/or objects thru walls etc when he's "transparent"?"

He absolutely can. There's one Avengers story I'm thinking of - perhaps when they're escaping Graviton's island - when the flying Avengers are carrying the non-flying Avengers, and I'm pretty sure Vision is carrying Wanda. Don't remember the book exactly, and I don't have any reference at hand.

But I have two solid answers. When the Avengers were battling for the Serpent Crown and after, the Vision is flying and carrying the Serpent Crown. And in Avengers 140, the Vision is carrying a quantity of serum for Yellowjacket in his cape - since it will disapparate with him when he goes desolid, or some other mumbo jumbo explanation...

But I know of those occurrences at the least. If you need more, I'll try to recall others.

Thanks fr the homework, Eric.

I'll say, tho, that my impression was that the Vision's flight was a different skill set from his ability to walk thru walls. Related, but not the same as picking up a person or object and stepping into the next room without using a door, as Kitty can.

While I suppose neither is the most reliable source, according to Ultron and Mark Gruenwald, the Vision can only control his own density.

Gruenwald did have a fondness for invoking unknown dimensions to explain super powers.

I've never seen that story before.   I did read a little Sgt. Rock and Our Army at War, but no Enemy Ace.

Not bad at all...

I wonder how you can make that assessment without having read any of the others.

I meant that I found it interesting despite not knowing much about the series itself or it’s characters in any great detail and that the storytelling in those few pages was engaging

I'm currently inking a page from Elsewhen issue 7 (Page two). Holly molly, the detail that John puts in. I'm flabbergasted.

The artwork throughout these episodes is amazing.

In this page in particular (And I haven't yet made it to the splash page), it was like peeling an onion. (Just with tears of joy). Layers, and layers of detail and texture and lighting and effects. Brilliant!

I always have a ball reading John's work, then again when I pour over the artwork and now, again as I ham-fist my way through the inks.

The other thing that strikes me is a feeling of joy when I look through John's work.

I think, not to over sell it, I think it's 'love!'.

Your comment sent me poking thru the various ELSEWHEN files.

Sorry, but so doing has not kindled a need to return to these rales, but it is interesting, at this distance, to look again at the pencils. A curious fusion of where I was a few years ago, and muscle memory of the late Seventies.

Yoiks!!
