I was good with the White Queen getting her due. Which means, good job of the creative team to leave no room for any pity for her. I remember how she tortured my Ororo!
Avalanche may have evaded the same fate by dropping a mountain on that Sentinel.

"Emma Frost"
---
I hate that "White Queen" fell out of favor. Never forget that she's a VILLAIN!

I was going to request several recurring X-Men villains that bug me, but they do not exist in this Elseworld Tale, and doubt they ever will.
Sue Storm is the most powerful Mom in the universe!

JB: "I don't know if this qualifies as a "denial", but the main difference between my run on UNCANNY X-MEN and my run on FANTASTIC FOUR is that there was no forced break in my storytelling on the FF. So there's no real point from which I could go forward with "this is what would really have happened".

Emma Frost, The White Queen managing to survive (like Doom, Magneto, The Black Cat etc. many more times) is fine; a great character, if not exhausted why throw away?
I was only disappointed when Mastermind came back (in a virtual re-run of the original Phoenix storyline to mess with Madelyn Pryor whatever she turned out to be). He could have come back from being a drooling vegetable but I would have had it take a long long time, and maybe he would have actual change to him. He was a very one-note bad guy up until the All-New All-Different X-Men. For what he did to Jean he should've really paid a price and it seemed in what came later he came off barely punished and really the exact same Jason Wynegarde as before. It also showed Phoenix was not so powerful after all that he bounced back so quickly and fully... 'F' that is how I felt at the time (and yet I still bought a pin badge that said Phoenix Lives! on it... I was part of the problem).
So I wouldn't want to see Emma Frost killed in this story. She was one of the few characters who did anything different or interesting later with or without Hellions or Generation X. A rival school for mutants was a pretty good new addition once you had the New Mutants. The wicked/devious head-mistress/step-mother is a good old staple of fiction for a reason!

I'm assuming by "zap" we are implying "killed"? Actually, I thought she made a good villain so I'd prefer wounded and captured. I too remember her trying to lobotomize Ororo, so I would expect in any continuity that Emma and Ororo wouldn't/shouldn't be friends though...

We WANT DOOM-WAR
********
Come on, man. He’s repeatedly said he’s not gonna do it. We’re lucky enough to be getting these issues. Who would’ve thought 5 years ago we’d get new John Byrne X-Men stories? Stop asking for more and appreciate what you’re getting.

I like how before she gets down to trying to free Franklin, Sue Storm puts her hair up in a pony tail.
I don’t know why, I just love that detail.

“ Now, a quick vote (and NOT a precedent!): how many of you would prefer to see someone other than Emma Frost getting zapped?”
Not me. I tried to think of another mutant from this era I’d rather see zapped, and I can’t think of any. I’ve always hated Emma Frost (in the good way, I always thought of her as a despicable villain), so I like seeing her comeuppance.
