I hope we get a panel of Dr Doom wrecking some Sentinels.

Hey, a question:

How many of you are actively missing Nightcrawler?

I figured Kurt was still convalescing after being wired into that special Sentinel model so no, not at the moment. Eventually I'd hope to see an update on his condition but the action (and character count) is thick at present so his absence doesn't stand out.

I think four / five characters is the optimal character count for team books, with a few exceptions (like the Legion of Super Heroes - its in the name!).

I am missing him quite a lot. That X-Men team is pretty tight; they work together so very well. I don't think quite too highly of his combat skills as much as the others (save Kitty, who in this case would be having a field day!) I mean, if I had to face off against, say, the Juggernaut, I think he'd be the least capable of a hand to hand fight (or bolt to hand fight.)

But on the same token, I have a thought of Kurt bamfing onto a sentinel's head; another sentinel targeting him and firing; and BAMF! another sentinel bites the dust.

As part of the team, I miss him quite a bit. As a clever wit, I miss him tremendously (I like toi think of Spidey, the Beast, and Nightcrawler exchanging bon mots all over the field of battle, and maybe Johnny just looking puzzled.)

As for powers - powers don't make the hero. Heroes make the hero. And as a top notch acrobat and martial artist... he's swell. And as was established after you left, Mr. Byrne, I can easily see Kurt leading the X-Men in the field.

TLDR: I miss Nightcrawler and I think he'd contribute a lot to this donnybrook.

Not so much in the current story -- but then again, as Rick Said, there's so many characters, that it's kind of understandable. He worked well in the Savage Land story. I think it would be a loss to edge him out permanently. Cyclops, Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Wolverine... that's the core of the all new line-up for me. I think it's a big chunk to take Nightcrawler out.

I am missing him. The X-men in my opinion are not complete without him. I like the friendship between him and Wolvie. His personality is complex for a comic character - of faith, reflective, playful, serious.  Also, I just love the way you draw him - never standing upright and always at the ready for any impending menace. Nobody draws Nightcrawler as well as you do.
