Man, I am learning so much about the back story of the early X-men days. Everything I assumed (I know, ass out of u & me) which was co-coordinated by JB (being co-plotter and all) was not actually how you intended. That's wild to know all these years later.

I had a sense of this, but missed the specifics. I am going back to reread all 12 issues.

Historically I'd count:

1) Mark I and Master Mold - Bolivar Trask
2) Mark II - created by Larry Trask.
3) Mark III - created by Stephen Lang (X-men #98)
4) Mark IV - Shaw

Are we seeing all of these? I'm going to look and compare (what fun!).

It was also a great asset to have someone like Kitty that was exceptionally normal, mousey even... not the genius at maths ninja Shield agent looking like another posing fashion model (okay, some of the last part was cool to me too, can't stay mousey all the time). I guess she should grow over the years but I don't feel that was what happened... from the main character I identified with who had conflicts with parents and fears about strange people to a near stranger.

It's gotten even worse with her in the Marauders, on par with Cyclop's character assassination. Do you think that would be a topic for the forum?

Sentinels:

The prototype that attacked Salem Center in the second issue.

The enhanced versions that went after the Scarlet Witch et al.

The X-Sentinels.

The Larry Trask versions (currently blowing up).

Hoping to learn Jean's fate soon - having last seen her facing the demand "Surrender Jean Grey!" in issue #8!

Loving the epic scale and multi-threading of these stories!
