From the Well-Observed Details Dep't: the beer gut on the dude exiting panel left would have been perfect as-is, but you added the extra gift of him having tucked in his t-shirt. That's some Daniel Day Lewis level of method backstory for that walk-on role, right there.

Thanks for noticing. I do like to load the passers-by with detail. Makes the scene more real on an almost subconscious level.

Way...WAY too many artists draw Wolverine with the proportions of a 6 foot + man. I’ve always appreciated how you draw him correctly.
Squared and or straight claws are another bugaboo that sends me packing from whatever book I’m reading.

Squared and or straight claws are another bugaboo that sends me packing from whatever book I’m reading.•• A classic example of the Singer becoming more important than the Song was when Frank Miller was allowed to turn the claws into (completely illogical) little Samurai swords in the WOLVERINE miniseries. And when people picked up on that and made it stick.

Hmmm... now I wonder if Jean will actually use her power to save those losers from their collapsed building...
I'm glad we have caught up to Jean now (really has been a while in real world time) so "yea!"

I'm glad we have caught up to Jean now (really has been a while in real world time)…•• I "did the math" and added a reference to the opening of next issue, indicating that it has only been about six hours since Jean ran away from home.* A little something for those people who insist these books happen in real time! _________ * Yes, the little sidebars with Jean were actually flash forwards! Now we've caught up.

Flash FORWARDS? REAL TIME? Mr. Byrne, I don't care if we see adventures from the X-Men's past, present or future! An old team up of Mac and Logan (and Heather, probably); Cyclops and the original six X-Men on a new unrelated adventure; shucks, go further, and give us a time tale where the X-Men team up with the Invaders!
I don't mind the timing because time is linear; so you'll find some way to coordinate it; you always do!

Just out of curiosity....
When you were dreaming up how the Avengers would tie into this shindig...did a certain hammer throwing Asgardian ever enter your mind to include? I bet he would have loved to play with some Sentinels.

I left Thor out of the party because he’s just too powerful. After all, I had to pad——ah, I mean pace this out to a full issue.

I feel this latest page is the doorstep to a whole new phase of the story; as with this whole endeavour, it's a treat just to be along for the ride.

I know today is not a direct cliffhanger, but I am dying to see what comes next. I've been wondering about Jean!
