Wonderful detail minus the superfluous Image lines for lines' sake.

the principle difference between his and mine is that his big influence was Harryhausen, while mine was Giger. ***** X#143 was, for me, pure ALIEN homage, right down to Kitty's use of the Blackbird's engines to fry the creature. Looking back now, I'd call it one of the scarier comics I read as a teen and that is a compliment.

I didn't need to see Peter and Kitty's breath, or read the copy.
That image instantly read to me as a snowy landscape.
Gorgeous page!

Are you drawing in any way differently (now vs. when you started ELSEWHEN), knowing that these pages are not intended to be inked?
The reason I ask---the snow-scape looks completely and fully rendered.

I didn’t really ever intend any of these pages to be inked, tho side by side with the “first issue” it’s easy to tell the pencils are getting steadily tighter.

This isn't meant as any slight against Dave Cockrum, whose work I greatly enjoyed as well, but your demon story with Kitty is more of a classic issue for most fans. Dave did some classic stuff, too, but I don't think most people think of the first N'Garai story that way as much. I think that's also because Kitty Pryde fans got to see her first baptism of fire in the later tale, making it a more memorable story.

Just realized I need to change that line about the first snow of winter. That young couple tree hunting were doing it in the snow, on Xmas eve!

The Kitty and Peter page is just perfect - a quiet moment before what I can only expect will be... some not so quiet moments!
JB, this whole project has been such a gift. As each page comes up, I find myself back-tracking through the previous issues of ELSEWHEN. And one positive part of being quarantined at home is having your original run on hand to reference - I keep pulling it off the shelf. Although I plunked big money on various TPBs and hardbacks of the run, I keep referencing those ESSENTIAL editions since ELSEWHEN is in B&W. I'm a sucker for the ESSENTIALS anyway, but this has been the main format since this new series started.

Brilliant page! The snow scene is expertly captured. The solid black of Sprite's costume makes a striking contrast and having Colossus wade so deep in the snow is a nice evocative detail.

To make the time frame a wee bit more vague, I've decided to move that splash to a month into the "new year". What year? Now THAT'S a question for the Ages!
