JB: You guys are giving me the impression I have accomplished something similar with just a few words in a few captions.

 Well, yeah! :-D
This is a masterful example of economical storytelling. You give us enough to light the fire of imagination, trusting us to "fill in the blanks" that you know are there. More comic book writers should learn how to do this, because not enough do.

I just noticed the different "texture" of the Phoenix. The more squared edges of her energy effect. It's a cool nod to the Shi'ar feather hair. I love little stuff like this.

 | •• Thanks. Inking this, I would use the french curve to make sure the edges of the modified effect were as crisp and smooth as possible. In pencil form, I can allow them to be a little looser.

I'm not seeing any reluctance on Lilandra's part for all this death and destruction. Does this mean Jean did a better job of resisting the Phoenix's influence, I wonder? (I'd like to think so)

I like how the Phoenix shapes itself to its host in subtle ways-- that's a nice, understated effect and tells us a bit about the Phoenix too.

 | Love where this story is going and am glad that it gives JB a chance to cut loose and go where he pleases.
