QUOTE:
Wallace S. - I meant that, straight up, Phoenix beat Gladiator. That seems to be the answer to the question of "Who wins?" |
|
|
I didn't realize there was anyone here who doubted that. We saw a beaten Gladiator when JB posted that sneak peek a while back, and again when the first page of issue #10 was posted here.

Maybe I’ve missed this in previous discussions, but has Lilandra been possessed by the Phoenix entity or has a copy been created of Lilandra as a “shell” for the entity to inhabit as with Marvel Girl? It appears to me that she is possessed, but I can see some wiggle room that would not be out of bounds.

Twice.

Hmmm... I’m not sure if I’m reading today’s final panel the right way...

I read it as the Phoenix entity suddenly abandoning Lilandra's form to enter Jean's.

I should also mention that a small part of me thought it could be Jean reacting to the Phoenix's words to her mother by reflexively attacking, but the positioning of her torso and left arm makes that seem less likely.

Hmmm.... an exploding head (partially obscured by a hand)... a naked alien woman (most of the good bits strategically covered)... I wonder if this could have been published back in the day with the comics code.

Sure. Also, remember Lilandra isn’t a conventional human flesh tone.
