…now I'm naked on your front lawn.•• Because I'm me, I actually address the fact that she is no more naked than a bird is.

I think attention-to-detail is your mutant power.
Today's page really pulls at my heart-strings --- poor Jean! How can this possibly end well?
I admire your Professor X. His body comes across as frail, but his features leap off the page. Rather than just another face-in-a-crowd, its like he's being played by a famous character actor we've all seen many times in the role---everything is so expressive and real.
Your skills are undiminished. To my eye, this is your best work, bar none.

For those who may not already know, my "casting" for Professor X was the actor Keane Curtis, now deceased.

The growing panel-size as we zoom in to Jean/Phoenix's face, too.
Details!

The subtle transformation of Jean's civilian clothes into the Phoenix outfit is pretty great.

Well, Dark Phoenix "returned" when it inhabited Lilandra, Phillip!

Woah! The first panel of today's page is an attention grabber! Beautiful work, JB!
I was surprised to hear Phoenix refer to Charles as an "old man" here. I wonder from what perspective this comes. Could it be that... Nah. I'm probably creating depth that wasn't intended. Bad brain! Bad brain!
*I realized after typing the last few sentences that I used "hear" instead of "see," and I am certainly "hearing" these characters speak as I read!

I wonder how Charles feels about Lilandra at this point. I mean he was in love with her (before the trial at least)... and he must be a least a bit concerned for her I expect...

I get the feeling that the Phoenix has unwittingly trapped itself.Hm... we might yet see Dark Phoenix become a recurring enemy for the X-Men. As for Lilandra, Charles is going to have to dig deep to find some compassion there, after all the things she did even before she bonded to the Phoenix.
