I can't believe we're at the end of 12 issues.•• And 17 is on the drawingboard. There have been some moments, some pauses when I felt I was not entirely sure what was next, or even if there WAS something next, but they keep smoothing out and filling in. I'm reminded of my early days on FF. I reached a point where I was halfway into an issue and I had NO IDEA what was in the next one. But by the time I reached the last page, I knew what the next 5 issues were! It's like Stan used to say, trust the characters and they'll tell you the stories they want to be in.

What an amazing final splash page to close out this issue. Dang... July 6 cannot come soon enough.
I just want to thank you again, JB, for sharing this with all of us. It's a rare treat to see you with these characters, taking their story in a whole new direction. Hope you'll enjoy a relaxing break and a Happy 4th next week!

There's a reason Phoenix came back to collect this "shell" she made. Maybe the entity has realized this is her apex form...? Well, whatever, it also goes to show that not just anyone can be a suitable partner for the Phoenix.
See you back here in 10 days!

Hope you’ll enjoy a relaxing break...••• No break for me, Andrew! I’ll be continuing to plug away each day, inching ahead of those ever encroaching (albeit self-imposed) deadlines.

I'm tempted to say: "There she is. There she is! And not so good as we were led to believe... So much the better!" but I won't ;-)
Epic splash-page indeed. And I like the white of the page illuminating her eyes on the prior page too (talk about inner fires...)

You have more professionalism and discipline than most working in the business today. One of the big reasons I don't read comics today is because no one stays on one book very long and there are constant missed deadlines and delays. Every issue of Elsewhere comes out on time and looks beautiful. I can't remember the last time I experienced that with a comic that had the same creative team.

Puck (who just happens to be visiting friends with a home near the mansion) saves the day!
I'm kidding, of course, but do feel like just about anything could happen next issue!

...professionalism and discipline...••• I’m reminded of a time fairly early in my career. It was just starting to be noticed how much work I was producing and (in those days before it became kewl to dismiss work actually produced on schedule) someone in a ‘zine asked HOW DO YOU DO IT?? I pointed out a simple mathematical fact: in those days there were 22 pages of story in each issue, and 22 working days in an average month. If you could produce a page a day, you could do a monthly book. If not, seek work elsewhere. Of course, this got me in trouble with the increasing number of fans/pros who treated comics like fanzines, with no need for professionalism and discipline. And here we are.
