On to a more serious comment/question:
JB, you've talked before about the possibility of Dark Phoenix being a recurring villain for the X-Men.
Now that this series has opened that door, are there any ideas you recall from then that you might be able/want to develop here? (Please note: I'm not asking you to tell us what they were, just whether you had any ideas you'd like to use now that that's possible.)
I'm guessing you had given some thought to how she would come back again (and how the team might survive repeated brushes with her). Even surviving this second go-round is going to be quite a trick.

“Jean” being attacked in the bar was a much rougher version of how we planned to have Dark Phoenix make her first comeback. Beyond that, Chris and I didn’t have anything solid worked out. And what I’m doing here is, of course, a whole different ballgame.

Mr. Byrne, you accidentally left out Ororo. And... still no sign of Scott?

As for Scott, he's not really the sort to go gaping up at the re-manifestation of a deadly enemy. I'm guessing he's rounding up the other X-Men as fast as possible.

I've seen a number of people asking where Cyclops is, as if it's some great, unsolved mystery. How much time do they imagine has passed since Phoenix hurled him away?

Well, there's that too, but being Cyclops, he'd hit the ground running! ;)

Just kidding! I'm sure we'll see him quite possibly on the next page, picking himself up and thinking "how are going to win this time?"

Whoof! What a way to keep us (and the Professor, literally) dangling until July 6. In the interim, my plan is to go back and savor these types of quiet poses: the way Logan and Peter are portrayed emotionally "off kilter."
The heroic poses of these Uncanny characters are what drew me in as a younger reader. Now, as a (slightly more mature) fan of storytelling, it is the skilled conveyance of the inner feelings of characters using their body language: these uncertain hands and arms are a delight - kudos to you John!

You know, I may be exceedingly stupid, but it never crossed my mind that we'd see the "Jean Grey" Dark Phoenix again. I thought that Lil Dark Phoenix would just absorb or dispel shadow Jean and be on her menacing way.
Sad if not fitting end for Lilandra that she ends up betraying everything she loved just to be an Uber to Earth for a demon.
