Most super powers imply others in support of them. Wanna fly? Better have some invulnerability to go along with it, or you won't be able to fly very high or very fast. Same for super speed and super strength. Being strong enough to lift a tank isn't going to be much use if your muscles tear loose of the bones, and the bones shatter. Also not a problem when a single power is used to generate other effects, like Banshee and Storm being able to "fly". Problems arise when the multiple uses spring from multiple powers. Nightcrawler can teleport, but that's not part of his ability to cling to walls, or his manipulation of light, which are not connected to each other. And where DOES that sulfur and brimstone come from? Nightcrawler was created to be a member of the Legion of Substitute Heroes, and as such he was a literal demon. When DC rejected the character and Len Wein decided he wanted to use him in the "All New, All Different" X-Men, nothing was done to address Kurt's various violations of Stan Lee's "rules". And there was also the problem of new powers/abilities showing up. Invisible in shadow, for instance. (Why not invisible at night, then?) The image inducer. Etc. Roger Stern commented that Nightcrawler was like Green Lantern's ring. He kept doing stuff he couldn't do last issue. 封 Please forgive me if I missed this in reading this thread and the earlier chapter threads. This question is not directed specifically to JB but anyone who knows the answer: Am I correct in understanding that Kurt's invisibility in shadows is not a thing in Elsewhen? (I am not bothered if this aspect of his powers is not a thing here, I am just making sure that I understand based on the comments in the threads.)
