I thought I had commented on this already, but either my brain is mush or it didn't post properly. Anyway, I received my comp copies, and must report that while the package is quite handsome over all, the bulk of pages suffer from the poor scanning that vexed the original publication."Ironically", the third series, my least favorite, looks best. I was experimenting with a thicker line, and they scanned better at the standard setting DC used back then.

I loved the look of your art in the third series best! Your experiment worked on me, JB!

Speaking of GENERATIONS 3, here’s yet another ennui-engorged “review”. The guy professes to not know much about the series, and that since it’s an ElseWorld it “doesn’t matter” anyway. Not knowing much becomes quickly obvious when he takes Superman’s reference to having traveled back in time to fifty years before his rocket landed on Earth to mean the story is set in 1888. Hands up everyone who thought Superman’s debut in ACTION COMICS 1 happened immediately after the rocket arrived.

One of the first "new to me" titles I bought in early 2020 after 30+ years away from the business. The LCS owner gathered I liked Mr. Byrne's Alpha Flight and Fantastic Four...and Superman...and recommended Generations. Great read. I enjoyed it so much that I snatched up G2 and G3 on eBay.
But oh, that collected edition is tempting!

If it "helps", remember us pros get no money for back issue sales, but collect royalties on reprints!

Good to hear JB - as I`m looking forward to grabbing the Omnibus version tomorrow! (Hopefully it includes that fantastic promo piece you drew back in the day - with multiple Supermen and Batmen on it from many different eras - described as "Unpublished generations poster" in the JB Online Gallery.)
Happy to see they`ve used the cover of G1 issue one as the cover for the OMNI - love that cover! Printed it out as a mini poster for myself when the series first started. But what did you made of the dot pattern around the borders of the image, JB? What that your idea? I`d like to see a "clean version" - just the art - some day!

Sorry for my confusion JB - are you referring to the fact that you weren`t consulted regarding the production of the Generations Omnibus?(I think)
What about when issue one was printed back in 1999, was the decision to print those dots around the margins of the cover (tho not on issues 2-4 oddly), not yours also?
Thanks again!
