JB: Sharp eyes among you may notice I've given you two pages today.

I noticed-- and thank you! I don't think the Phoenix will take kindly to what happened...

I like how the phoenix emblem is visually obscured by the intensity of the optic blast. But its also as if just for a second the phoenix itself has been (metaphorically) pushed away.

That panel with Scott's optic blast elicited such a loud "wow" my wife asked me what I was doing. Well done, JB.

So much power in that last page! Cyclops powers are indeed devastating here. That image of Phoenix being blasted is astounding.

I don't know what Phoenix's plans are but I can tell they aren't in any way good. If she went into long speeches about it all it wouldn't be half as scary as not knowing what she/it is thinking! She looks more than crazy without the modern giant toothed evil leer, and with so much power, yikes. Scared for Scott. :^(
I don't imagine a planet's entire supply of Hostess Fruit Pies would be enough. Call out the entire Marvel universe; all hands on deck! :^O
Great comic! :^)

Gorgeous second panel on the second page. I seem to recall reading that Cyclops has rarely (never?) unleashed the total force of his optic beam for fear of damaging / killing someone. It would be something if this current beam is the first time he's gone full power and it happens to be against the person he loves most in the world. "You always hurt the one you really love."

It's also possible that he's pretty sure that his full power (probably?)wouldn't be enough to permanently damage Jean(as he is aware just how powerful she is). Of course, next page could be he pulps her, but I really doubt it would be that easy ;-)

I love how, to my eyes, there is a faint echo of panel three shown here in today's page. A great example of how there were maybe still some things to learn back then and now it's a master's hand at work.
