Question for JB: I see Scott Williams has posted images trying his hand at inking Elsewhen. Is it appropriate to post them on your forum somewhere?

I love seeing a cover!
Have you collected any covers in your own original art collection? Are there any that you would want?

In my own rather copious collection of original art (other people’s) I have only one cover, from JACK KIRBY’S FOURTH WORLD 1. It was a gift from Walt Simonson.

Awesome cover! And it's just like an authentic published Marvel cover - it cuts off your signature! :-)

Hm. Just looking over some of the earliest pages, and it would seem Jean’s parents found themselves a fountain of youth somewhere along the way! This goes to something I’ve mentioned before, about how parents and guardians used to be drawn as much older than logic would suggest. May and Ben Parker being typical of this. When Jean’s mom and dad first appeared internal logic would have suggested she was somewhere around 17 or 18. But Kirby followed tradition and drew them older than would seem likely. Something in my psyche has evidently been nudging me backwards in my drawings of the Greys.

May and Ben looked to be in their 70s or even 80s. I know 70 or 80 doesn’t look as old now as it used to, but surely they weren’t created to actually be that old.

I remember thinking as a little kid, "Aunt May is his *aunt*? She's way too old for that."My great-aunts looked younger than May Parker did. Recently, though, she's been drawn as a more vibrant lady who could be in her late 50s/early 60s.

Perhaps Aunt May just had a rough life and looked old for her actual age of 56 ;-)
