There's something very 1960's about Scott and Jean in the back of a convertible flying car. Just like the style his glasses too.
I'm diggin' the vibe.

Always I put the proverbial foot in mouth. Front, of course. "Slim" is driving.

Man! What an antidote for the modern-comic-storytelling-blues! This is unrolling like an avalanche -- galloping at something like the pace of the utterly breathless Thomas/Adams X-Men run.
Excelsior!

Great panel of the rocket car thing (not sure what to call that?) flying over the mansion rubble. Looks perfect.

I remember some movie or tv show in the '80s where someone had been asleep or away and they made a joke about you'll never believe who is president, and that was referring to Reagan. You could do the same thing again now about the current entertainer-in-chief. Or not, why would anyone want to 'pollute' such a great comic. :^)
Well, I only just thought about 'Namor' being 'Roman' spelled backwards the other night, which made me think of Asimov using 'Tobor' for a character that probably turned out to be a robot way back and was he even the first to do that... overthinking, it's what we do. :^|
Sitting back and enjoying the ride! A bit worried about Phoenix coming after the real Jean somehow though. :^O

It's not quite the scene you described, Rebecca, but are you thinking of Back to the Future? Marty tells Doc that Reagan is president when he's trying to convince him he's from the future, which causes Doc to scoff, "Then who's vice president? Jerry Lewis??"

Just having Professor X not being absent from an adventure is a treat too. Felt like that became the norm.

While real Jean doesn't know about some key relationship moments copy Jean and Scott had (like sleeping together for the first time, planning to get married, not to mention the extremely intimate psychic rapport they shared), Scott sure does. It might be interesting to know what Scott is thinking about all that's happened and how he and real Jean will now relate to one another. Although Jean had left the X-men after giant-size 1, Scott and her were still in a relationship. I have to wonder what effect this would have on that...

If such things need to be discussed, it seems to me Jean and Scott had been physically intimate before that fateful Xmas eve.

Walt and Weezie seemed to give you credit for the "first time"!
But with the sliding timeline and the decade that they were both young adults, that does seem less and less realistic.
(Interesting to see Walt drawing one of your scenes!)
