Are there any industry "rules" or standards when it comes to subplots?
For example, when you cut to a subplot that is taking place "away" from the action, is it to be a mandatory full page? At least two panels? No more than one page, etc.?
Another example might be are there to be no more than two subplots going on at the same time (meaning "active" subplots, not dormant story seeds) or referenced in the same issue, etc.
I know any "rules" wouldn't be hard, but I wonder if there were any guidelines that the industry practices. If not now, then back in the 80s, 70s, or earlier.
These would be the kind of things a professional would pick up doing the craft that an amateur may not know about.
