I hope all these kids (I'm including Kitty) stick around. I like the idea of Xavier's with actual students!
That was a really funny reveal of the drive up to the wrecked mansion today. Slightly light note to end the book on, even as it reminds us of just how devastating the Phoenix was.

Really satisfying illusion of depth to that first panel and an enjoyable "meanwhile" page.

Ashley and her mum Teri were attacked by a Sentinel in issue seven. When the X-Men return to the mansion they learn that the Professor and Kitty have gone to Indiana to see them. They are at the Martin home in issues 8 - 12.
Ashley and/or Teri previously appeared in issues 9 - 22 of X-Men: The Hidden Years.

I like that all of the X-Men (with perhaps one exception) seem to show appropriate deference when interacting with Professor Xavier.

Wow.
It's not a bombshell, but I had forgotten that Jean DID leave the X-Men. It was the Sentinels that interrupted that date Jean and Scott were on at that moment while she was gone from the team.
Scott, you can be kinda upset with her wanting to leave, but if ANYONE deserves time away, it's Jean.
Also. it was cool to see the Marvel-Girl outfit.

They were, now still are, young, they were, now still are, in love. This is their story...thank you so much for that JB.

...I had forgotten that Jean DID leave the X-Men...•• This is the detail I admitted I had myself forgotten. All kinds of plans for what happens next as Jean slips back into place on the team then, whammo! caught again by the NON-elapsed time she's experienced! (Amusing to think back to when Jean and the rest of the originals, sans Scott, left. There were plans to give Jean her own book, as "Miss Marvel". That eventually mutated into MS MARVEL, with someone else in the lead. And Jean, of course, found her way back to the X-Men.)

She left but the life she was starting for herself is now two-plus years in the past. It would be understandable if she wanted to stay in a familiar place--once it's rebuilt--and get her bearings before going solo again.

Hm. I removed the comment above after reading the new page--which addressed exactly that. And I feel for Scott. This might be where these two come to something of a crisis in their relationship... one that wasn't resolved back when she left the team years ago. I feel for them both.
