Realizing we’re coming up fast on five years since I started posting this issue.

That goes a way toward explaining why inking it feels so “fresh”! It’s a long time since I laid down these pencils. The inker half of my brain is actually able to APPRECIATE what I was doing here.

Have you been able to experience that before? That is, coming in fresh after a sizable break to ink work that was largely done at the pencil stage?

One of the joys of the pencils is the underlying work like the grids. The pencils have this beautiful organic aspect that I really love.

One aspect that has emerged from this exercise is finding myself tweaking details as I go along. Correcting places where, for instance, the pencils got a bit “sloppy”. Often on hands and fingers.

(Hm. Cue some dolt to suggest I am using AI for the inking!)
