JB, did you have an urge to give Logan new threads after this page?

It probably won't happen but I would love to see Cyclops in this Byrne-designed uniform. It's my favorite look for him.

Cyclops works best (IMHO) when his working suit is basic-- black with yellow highlights and a small visor. He's been in a lot of variations over the years but simple is better for him.

Apologies JB! I guess it's your other super power - making any costume look good!

JB, I really appreciate your decision to show the viciousness of Wolverine's attack through the reactions of Cyclops and Sprite instead of having him cut the aliens to pieces on screen.

Great page today. The last few survivors of a civilization...yikes!
With regards to those Savage Land issues of the original run --- I felt like they were so pivotal in establishing the characters of the new team (especially Wolverine).
It definitely turned my head and heart towards him---the way he interacted with Zabu, the way he let that small T-rex bite on his arm until he popped his claws, smelling and scenting the environment. He came across as a rational leader-type and not just a wild man. Brilliant.
Add to that the introspective moments from Scott, and also Storm (sans weird rant). Those issues were a highlight where the X-men shone as individuals beyond just action heroes in a team book.
The art (Storm! Sauron! etc.) was on another level, too. Seriously the best I had ever seen in a comic up until that time (bar none).
I was hooked.

Yeah, the Savage Land was where Wolverine was finally able to "let loose" and be taken more seriously. I believe that the guard was his first official kill!

I believe that the guard was his first official kill!•• Or not. Shooter forced Chris to revisit all the characters Wolverine had killed, to show they were not dead.

Some rock solid (no pun intended) art and story this issue. Love Wolverine’s expression after. He looks a mess mentally too, as though he’s not in completely in control of his actions (as befits the “bezerker rage”).
Regarding Scott’s comments, it might well be interesting if there are some things that Kitty can’t, or has trouble, phasing through...
