It's also a good call out to Journey Into Mystery #109 when Magneto meets Thor for the first time, and Thor pretty much kicks his butt. He runs away from Thor then too.
It's a good reminder how powerful Thor is in the Marvel Universe, though he doesn't get the same level of respect/prestige that Superman does. It's probably because outside of Loki, another Asgardian, Thor doesn't have a class of villains as iconic as Superman's.

Not sure how Wanda was handled in the past. Is alt-Wanda a willing
participant in her father’s plans or is she being manipulated?
