Chris' reworking of Magneto started soon after the FF office let him use Doctor Doom for a post-me issue of UNCANNY. His handling of the character was so off-model it was decided that he would not be allowed access to Doom again--and so he set about (unconsciously?) turning Magneto into his own version of Doom.

I find this extremely amusing. i.e. "No! Bad writer! You may no longer borrow Doctor Doom after you broke him the last time!"
Thank you for the responses.
@Eric: Patricia Neal is a good guess.

The whole noble anti-hero direction of later Magneto finally makes sense!

JB, just a heads up. I see you've been updating Peter's injured leg (which look great) but you missed one from issue #14 page 14, 2nd panel. ••• Colossus isn’t ON that page.

I think Doug's page count was thrown off due to thr double-page spread. I see the panel he means. It's the last post on the first page of that thread.

Thanks, Matt. I see it. And let me add, in a calm, measured tone, that since I am doing these patches completely at random, when I get the urge, and not entire issues at a time, it is going to get old very fast if people insist on pointing out when I’ve “missed” one.

Duly noted. Kind of saw that coming, but honestly thought you overlooked that panel because you did the page after. Sorry.

I’ve wondered for a while now how the alts escaped Xavier’s attention ... apparently they didn't do so entirely.

Fifteen dead... wow. Alt-Magneto is off to a real fast start! I had also thought that they had somehow gone undetected, but it appears they were around--just not the X-Men's foremost problem, given the Lilandra/Phoenix dustup, the attack of the D'Bari, the return of the Imperial Guard and the Kitty emergency. Pretty easy to see how a band of "impostor X-Men" might have fallen off their radar. Thanks for the backstory, JB!

I'm amazed at how much story you fit into 4 panels on one page. Especially, if what I think is going on, that last panel has added a lot to this story.

As we move into this phase of this particular story arc, I find myself in a not unfamiliar situation—having to keep track of all the pieces I’m juggling at the same time. Don’t want to find myself half an issue into the next tale and realize I left some point unexplained. It would be easier, of course, if I kept written notes and outlines for myself, but for as long as I’ve been passing myself off as a writer, I’ve generally preferred to do it all in my head. (Method in my madness. I figure if I forget something, it probably wasn’t too important.)
