The patented Byrne side view. I love it. ••
When was the first time I used that, I wonder? For some reason, I have it in my head that it was an early issue of my run on THE AVENGERS, with a shot of the Vision.
Hmm.......
The other question, of course, would be what inspired it.
******
I’m almost positive the Vision shot you’re thinking of was from your FF crossover with Stern’s Avengers and Vision was knocked out of commission. It’s the same one I was thinking of and ALWAYS comes to mind when you use the pose.
I’m thinking there are earlier examples of it, but nothing comes immediately to mind.

The FF/AVENGERS crossover sounds about right. Leaving only the question of where I got the idea.

This probably isn't correct, but it keeps sticking in my head: was it inspired by the "face of God" from Star Trek V?

I love to read turning the pages but reading while scrolling down can be nice too. I adored today's first panel, I kept reading and I found a worthy rival at the bottom!!

My guess is not correct but it immediately reminded me of Dr. Manhattan by Dave Gibbons in the panel below:

You are correct that you are not correct—tho you are closer geographically.

That last panel reminds me of something from TIME BANDITS.
Incredible page.

Just a stray thought---not saying it does or should work this way, but I could see a Storm-variant where her powers just wouldn't work in space.

This was in Avengers 165 (part two of the Count Nefaria story).
