That “500” in 137 is the only one I can recall.

There were, of course, the “real numbers” I put on the covers of XHY (which the paste up department obscured so many times I found it hard to believe it was simple coincidence).

Love the point that it is more than just strength as pure strength would rip the ship apart.  No need for deep discussions on the why and how of superpowers, just minor adjustments over the years to enable suspension of disbelief to work imo.  We all just accept that people can fly, shoot lasers (or whatever it is) from eyes, etc.  If one is a scientist who wishes to go deep into the physics and try to find a way for someone to really fly they hey, got at it, I know I'd love a working flight ring (or whatever).

Seeing tons of story paths ahead - it'll be interesting to see which path has been chosen and if I saw any of it coming.

Not to take away from the absolute impressiveness of the feat Gladiator is performing but I seem to recall that a certain Kryptonian did something along these lines by pushing the earth a single diameter - can’t remember the exact issue but I believe it was in the late seventies, and I’ve never quite forgotten it…

I'm impressed by the realisation of the X-Mansion. The panel on page four with Storm in shadows opening the door is my favourite panel in this issue so far and the one at the bottom of that same page is superlative as well, with the book shelves and the bay window and all the myriad details.

WOW!
Nicely done. The light effect over the landscape is vivid with the sharp glare distorting the skyline momentarily--lends a nice "atomic blast" aspect to what *almost* happens.

Nice prose in today's page. The imagery is often so powerful it dwarfs the words, but today it was the latter that spoke to me.

I LOVE YOUR EXPLOSIONS! Your energy effects are as beautiful as your physical confrontations and action-less poses both.

Yes, that's an explosion over Salem Center - obviously all light, no concussive force. And it's wonderful, truly wonderful.

I won't pay five bucks for a comic anymore, but I would for this. That's the best compliment I can offer...

Is it really five dollars now? So, with 20 pages of "story"--actually part of a story--per issue, that's 25˘ per page, or two and a half times what a whole comic cost when I started buying them.

And back then, we got three or four complete stories PER ISSUE!!
