JB -- two pages into his story and you've proven why only you should have been entrusted with Logan's origin. Fantastic start -- this will be a treat! Thank you!

As we progress, the question will inevitably arise, is this what I "always" had planned for Wolverine's backstory?

As usual, the answer is "yes and no". Elements have been bouncing around in my head since the Seventies--Sabretooth as his father, for instance--but you'll all be seeing things that came to me as I was working on the pages.

So some of this is new to me, too!

I love the look of Young Logan. You can see how that kid will grow up to become the guy we know.

Today’s fourth panel is a gut-wrencher. It conveys everything the reader needs to understand. Nicely done, good sir.

I have a friend who is my father's generation-- born in the 40's. He talks about his growing up in the mid-west in the kind of elliptical way Logan has been shown to do, but occasionally he opens up and its always harrowing.

Like today's page.

Just two pages into this origin and I can’t even describe how exciting this is.

Already MUCH better than Marvel's "Origin" series!

Only decent Wolverine backstory Marvel published was Barry Windsor Smith’s “Weapon X”, and that was a very narrow focus snip in time. This is going to be as good, if not better, than that seminal story. Great anticipation to see how far along the timeline this goes.
