Logan is going to have a LOT to think about as these memories resurface...••• Just to be clear, these memories are not coming into his mind as new or unfamiliar concepts. They are just like the memories you or I or anyone else has. This is not, for him, a learning process. Altho there will be certain elements, as we go forward, some of you may find disturbing, even off-putting. Shaman has a big bombshell to drop at the end of this issue.

I found that last scene of his mother being beaten to death disturbing, even
though it happened "off camera" - do you consider what is to come in this
issue an all-ages story?

I connected with Marvel characters more than most fiction when I was a kid, and stories dealing with trauma didn't faze me in a negative way. In retrospect, it probably did what good story writing always does - the real situations resonated, even though they were in a fantastical world.
I would say your story of Sue losing her baby in FANTASTIC FOUR is an excellent example of something that wasn't discussed a lot to kids as being handled in a skilled way.

A recurring problem in the marketplace is the over abundance of fans who dismiss “all-ages” as meaning juvenile. But as you note those Lee/Kirby/Ditko early days were “all-ages”—something for everyone. Compare the death of Logan’s mother to Uncle Ben, or across the street, the Waynes.

Also, this sequence adds a touch more flavor to the whole Jahf-hit-him-with-a-snowball rage. Perhaps a subliminal trigger/muscle memory kind of effect.

Wolverine as a kid looks very rough, and the "lack" of eyebrows somehow fits perfectly. Unless you will reveal it in the pages to come, may I ask how old he is supposed to be in these two pages?
Finally, the profile a the bottom of page 10 is pitch perfect. Am I right to "read" a shadow on his face or is this an artifact of the pencils/eraser?
Great job, JB. I am pleasantly surprised by how deep you decided to plunge with this origin tale! I think a Marvel story would have had at least one issue dedicated to the events leading to this scene, missing the whole point...
