Perhaps the original Hank McCoy as The Beast wasn't quite as exactly on point appellation-wise compared to Ice Man, Angel, and Cyclops. Never ever longed for him to be hirsute just to suit the moniker, though!

“Beast” made him stand out from the group. That’s not a name that would apply to any of the others.

 QUOTE:
Frank Miller established that Daredevil's powers were just training and that the effect of the radiation wore off long ago.

Stick assured Matt that the "powers" he had were just sensitivities which everyone has, but never bother to develop properly.

No.

Daredevil is a superhero with a super power.

Matt Murdock’s natural senses were heightened by his radioactive encounter. I have no problem with Stick teaching him how to focus those heightened senses, to get the most out of them, but suggesting that it ALL came from Stick’s training is several bridges too far.

The idea that ANYONE could benefit from such training of course de-uniques Daredevil.

I have always believed that Daredevil's augmented senses were a superpower, specially his radar sense!!!

A reference I just caught, a few pages back, to Cyclops firing laser beams out of his eyes.

Perhaps meant as hyperbole, but it’s necessary to reiterate that Scott’s beams are concussive force, nothing like a laser.

I remember thinking when I was a kid that when Phoenix's debut it was to address Jean having a lame name compared to all the other X-Men's, especially the newer one. Marvel Girl and Invisible Girl always seemed to pale in comparison to names like Angel, Cyclops, Beast, Mr. Fantastic, Thing ... < id="protanopia"> < id="deuteranopia"> < id="tritanopia">

And in the end, she wound up with the most-exciting moniker of simply "Jean Grey" after all of that.

I did like the invisible girl finally “graduating” to invisible woman.  I’m guessing we aren’t gonna see marvel woman at this point though ;)

What is a bit contradictory is that Hickman's X-Men emphasize the use of mutant codenames to highlight their mutant condition but he has at least 4 relevant characters constantly using their "human" names: Sebastian Shaw, Jean Grey, Kate Pryde and Emma Frost!

Hickman's X-Men (incl all various titles) is one of the stupidest runs I have ever come across.
