Two years of unrequited love. That nurse must be in agony.

Logan's mass must be so great that he isn't used to standing up under all that weight. He may need a lot of steroids and exercise to build up his muscles enough to lift a full grown oak tree (X-Men #134?) let alone his own body weight.

This is physically painful to read, Mr. Byrne. Your artistry is unmatched to me.

Physical therapy takes a while, though Logan's mutations may make it easier to rebuild muscle mass (and add to it, to offset the weight of his new bones). Getting up to walk so soon after surgery wasn't going to go well.

Y’all missed the reference to the adamantium bones being light?

JB - During the Dark Phoenix saga there is a scene where Kitty is rescuing Wolverine and says something along the lines of how Wolverine is much heavier than he looks. Is that more of a Claremont thing?

Reading these pages, I realize just how much behind the scenes drawing reference work there is - Hospitals, Apartment buildings, old war bunkers, etc. to make things look so authentic. JB you definitely put in the work!

Yup. Typical example of Chris “writing beyond the art”—which he did a lot. Usually making no sense, as here. There’s really no internal reason for adamantium to be extra heavy.

Thanks for noticing.

Fortunately, all that stuff adds up to a major part of the fun, for me. Over the years I have many times told young artists, who are complaining that drawing backgrounds is “boring,” that they need to keep drawing and drawing and drawing until it’s NOT.
