If it used to be fairly standard that a kid's prime reading years were between 8 and 13 years old, I'd say that no more than two Galactus stories should've appeared in those five years. A character like that, the sheer awe of his appearance is best preserved by an especially rare usage.

Certainly we don't want to see him reduced to comic relief!

Galactus is due for a "return to glory." He's became (for a while) the punching bag writers used to show how tough their characters were. "Oh my, he beat up GALACTUS! He must be tough!" Not sure, but might be the first domino fell when Jim Shooter had the Beyonder bring Galactus to Battleworld.
He needs some rehabilitation.

Galactus as comic relief -- like that awful, awful story where Hercules tries to get him drunk. SHEESH!
Way to make two "gods" look doofy!

Let’s not forget the Impossible Man giving Galactus “cosmic indigestion”!Or maybe it would be better if we did. (The second Superman/Spider-Man gave us a time traveling Superman aboard Galactus’ ship, where he found a LIST of worlds Galactus planned to devour. One was Krypton. So Superman……moved his homeworld further down the list!)* _________ *Or was that something the writer planned to do? Been a while.

Came upon a “review” of the second ELSEWHEN printed collection. The reviewer complained that the storytelling was “light” as there were “no subplots”.I flipped thru my copy and found at least FIVE, including the Sentinel story beginning as a subplot, Jean’s misadventures running away from home, and the lead up to Lilandra becoming Phoenix. Made me wonder what the writer considered a subplot. Something Claremontian that never seems to find a resolution?

No subplots? What was that reviewer reading? I lose track of all the subplots sometimes (not a complaint, more a comment on my mind). Sheesh!

I may be once again displaying my ignorance, but is there an "ELSEWHEN printed collection"? Thanks!

There are “homemade” collections floating around. Quite well done, from what I’ve seen.

JB - how do you decide on the frequency of villains per year?
