JB, how would you break down into collections the 28 issues so far ?

•••

The collections I’ve seen have six issues per volume, which seems to work.

John, Nightcrawler's reference to Amanda (and your ref. to subplots just upthread) reminded me... I felt like there might be more planned with Amanda (she seemed to be up to something?) before she bought the farm so many issues ago now. Was this a subplot you decided to let go?

John- Long time lurker, finally coming out of the shadows to offer a heartfelt thank you!

Nightcrawler is one of my favorite X-Men and while I love Dave Cockrum's work, you draw the best Nightcrawler anyone has ever attempted.

Come to think of it, you draw everyone better.

And the details... it was yesterday's page, with Nightcrawler leaping around the city, that forced me to post.  I LOVE the detail and effort you put into the flag... thank you!

As others have posted before me, your attention to detail is also second to none and I always spend time reviewing each new page and learning new appreciation for your craft.  I've got to get back to the newest page and take in all the details of the crowd and city backgrounds.

As great as your artistic skills are, your plotting/writing skills can be sometimes overshadowed... for my money, no one does it better in either respect.

I've walked into comic stores over the past decade DESPERATE for something to buy, only to leave with reprints or old issues of books you've worked on.

Elsewhen is a dream come true!  Thank you again for the hard work... I've been loving it from Day One and the serial style of storytelling keeps the suspense high...  Your kung fu, as ever, is without equal.

After I left, Chris “revealed” Amanda to be a witch. Part of his ongoing campaign to write X-MEN as pretty much anything but a mutant book.

Killing her off was my way of getting rid of all that without having to either contradict or address it.

Ha! I apparently departed before any of that came to pass. Thanks for the explanation.

In a weird way, it seems that looking back, Claremont was sort of using the "Amanda is a witch" thing to get her out of the book, at least as a regular love interest. She was revealed to be Kurt's step-sister, which made the whole thing kind of icky, and except for a select few appearances she wasn't seen much again in the title for many years.

Wasn't she step sister by fostering only though? Not by
blood I thought.

Having said that, what an incredible coincidence eh?

A couple of Chris' lesser ticks are that

(a) Nobody is allowed to be "ordinary", and

(b) Everybody must be connected somehow.
