The beard is a nice and logic detail.
This origin story is really awesome.

One thing I am really liking is the elimination of the whole "Weapon X Program" and its sinister ringleaders and conspiracies.
Logan was infused with Adamantium as a result of an accident (and, yes, the implication is there that they wanted to use him as a super soldier), but it is much more streamlined.
It never made sense from the BWS story in 1991 why the government gave him the name of the Weapon X program as his codename initially.
More sense it was given tp him when he became an operative of Department H.

Page 18 is fun. I love the comic book convention of slightly different panels of the same shot to show time lapse. It is tempting to ink one panel, duplicate it and drop in the changed elements, but I do like the subtle differences that are introduced if every panel gets individual attention from the inker.
At this point in his history, I find it interesting that Logan left civilization to avoid accidentally cutting loose.

Altho I chose not to use it, "Weapon X" works fine as a code name for the procedures working up to the creation of Wolverine. Just as long as nobody gets it into their heads that it means "Weapon 10"!

I wonder how much the fact Wolverine ended up as an X-Man influenced the creation and use of “Weapon X” as a descriptive term? If he ended up as an Avenger would the program have been called, “Weapon A”?

Don’t Google “Weapon X”, then.•• Why can't I express a dumb idea without finding out someone has actually done it?

"Angel as a character is nothing I cared about -- but JB's comicbook is pretty freakin' stellar. "

Same. It's not for nothing that I was torn between which one of the 2 original pages from BAT that I wanted to buy...so I ended up buying both!
