Doodling yesterday with a new costume variant for Storm. Something a little more evocative of what she wore in Africa. Which means, yes, white.

Problem is, in black and white drawings, how will it be distinguishable from her uncolored skin? Should I start adding a grey tone to her flesh? If so, in the pencils, or on the scan?

Hmmmmm..........

Have you ever used a burnished pencil tone in Elsewhen?

Cool page btw, and I heard a different word other than ‘futzin’ when I
read it.

Man, each page of this story adds another level of cringe for ol’ Logan.
Masterful work, JB!

I believe I read somewhere that  --  because of the comics code or the like  --  writers developed a way for the characters to swear but a Universal Translator of sorts filters the words into something more comic-friendly.

So when we hear sheee-oot, or friggin', or futzin', or wise-acre...
well... that's not really what they're saying, and it ain't what the ears of the Marvel cast of characters are hearing.

Back in the early Seventies DC developed a fondness for “freakin’,” until the Keepers of the Code figured out what it was standing in for, and told them to cut it out.

As I’ve mentioned before, Roger Stern used to say Wolverine was the kind of guy who would punctuate with the f-word, while Ben Grimm would actually say “blankety-blank”.

This tale started intense and it's *staying* intense. Making Logan active, aware, and determined takes it up a notch. This sequence is making me imagine how truly painful his life has been much like a certain character who was buried alive in JBNM gave me claustrophobia.

Just imagine how they are going to replace the skull.

So, if I’ve done my math correctly, this is taking place roughly in the late
60s-early 70s? Which means Logan is late 50s to early 60s in age?

I could be wrong, but the 60s-70s timeframe you mention seems more likely to be when he got trampled, before the 20 year hospital stay.

The trampling occurred some time in the first half of the Fifties.
