I'm looking forward to seeing how different Dark Phoenix is with the real Jean as part of the mix. She sure looks happy to see Scott!

It's very cool how clear it is, visually, that this is the first time the real Jean is inhabited by Phoenix. Of course the cop and Jean's mom looked out of place in the Phoenix uniform. But now even Jean looks "wrong".

Very cool.

Well, there IS one thing that JB is drawing differently about this incarnation of Dark Phoenix......

Vinny, I think I know what you are talking about & I caught that early as well.
Interesting to see what that really does mean.

Wow!! Yet another great page JB!

An idea popped into my head almost instantly - although I could be way off beam - which would mean the thing that didn't seem to fit quite right actually fits perfectly...

Either way, it's going to be a long wait till Monday!

Isn't it funny, and sad, that this is the best comic being "published" right now?

This Jean fan is pleased (at least for the moment).  Can see Scott’s awkwardness even through the visor (and who could blame him? Jean as Phoenix didn’t go well at all the last time…)

This joining is definitely looking different.  Hair, attitude, and posture at least artistically seem new for Phoenix.  Very intriguing…

Though I feel bad for Elaine, as a reader I like how Phoenix’s casual disdain (for most people) is being expressed here. Unceremoniously discarded… yikes…

Agreed on the attitude and posture.  If my thoughts on this are correct, JB seems to have been seeding this more "playful" version of Phoenix a lot longer than I thought.  I think there's a great payoff coming...

Gotta say, it's most interesting--and gratifying--to see some of you playing around in your heads with what I am up to. Once again, I was concerned that it would be immediately obvious.

And as to how long I've been setting this up--well, basically since those innocent looking sparkles appeared in the woods following the Imperial Guard's departure.

VERY gratifying to know you're enjoying producing this as much as we are consuming it ...

Q: Were you always a co-plotter on your run on X-Men? Did that evolve naturally over time through the Marvel Method?   < id="protanopia"> < id="deuteranopia"> < id="tritanopia">
