If memory serves, I was first listed as co-plotter in UNCANNY 113, tho I had been making larger and larger contributions for a few issues before that.
Even then, Chris insisted on listing himself in the credits as "author". I pointed out that job description more properly belonged to both of us, as a "team". (I'd also registered objections to myself being "artist" and Terry "inker", since I felt we were both "artists" on the book.)
So, at first I thought one thing was happening. NOW I think something else is happening. But I might be wrong about that, too. And that's OK! Its great not knowing!
Cheers, it's been interesting to retroactively filter each of your respective input on the material ... as usual, love all these twists, especially as I go back and read from the beginning of Elsewhen. It's also been fascinating seeing how you strike the balance between engaging a new reader and providing pixie dust for long time Byrne victims.
Glad to see you stood up for Terry Austin back then. Always loved his inks on virtually anyone. He seems to have a great sense of humor from what I saw in the comics so I suspect he was fun to work with. Of course, I could be 100% off on that too (never met him so it is just pure...gulp...speculation).
Enjoying these 3 storylines. Seeing Wolverines past (described that storyline to my brother-in-law who is a DC fan mostly and he prefers this version to the official one), this version of Phoenix (I'm super-curious about where this is going...have my own theories but certain I'm wrong), and the Doom/alt-Magneto storyline (editors would've killed that one as no way they'd have let the 'real' one die outside of a major event which would be written off 6 months later). Of course there are others floating about (Nightcrawler, what happens when Logan wakes up, etc.) but as always this is a fun ride.
Who is the creature that Wolverine is facing, probably not on behalf of the Canadian government? For a moment I thought it was a shaman of the Lava Men, but the body doesn't seem to match my impression at all.

S/he/it is someone I made up on the spur of the moment, as I drew that panel, and has no previous existence in the MU.
