Showing my true geek nature I have to point out it was Odin's other eye (and it flew off and grew and later had conversations with Thor, at least in the early '80s comics I started on).
An "all-nourishing Odinsleep" might be in order, or a dip in the Beanworld chow pool maybe!

A question JB, if I may? Were you awake and aware of the procedure? My wife will eventually have to have this procedure and is TERRIFIED that they won't knock her out. Anything to do with the eyes freaks her out and I've been relaying your experience(s).

I was conscious but sedated. The doctor talked to me, and I answered. Tell your lady wife there is nothing to fear.
